We laugh, we smile, we work, we draw.
I could never think I'd be happier.
But, as I turn
I began to see
You blue eyes only reflecting back at me.
I snap, I snarl, I bark I bite.
I'm far closer to any animal
Than I am to my own species.
Because even if we don't have claws, or fangs in our jaws
We're still the most violent of the animal kingdom.
I lay, I watch, I hide, I whisper.
Who would ever think I worried
When I wear my mask of smiles
And speak my scripts of laughs.
The skill of an actor is to fool the viewer.
I curl up, I mutter, I twitch, I stutter.
My mind is tattered.
Only strands of functions hold together
So that my mask seems real.
And my emotions may counsel themselves another day.
I laugh, I snap, I whisper, I twitch.
But as insects chip away at the surface
And internal outbursts beat away at the underside
It slowly looses its grasp on my nerves
And smashes to the floor.
